Students had the opportunity to fill out their Welcome to National Junior Beta Club packets and mingle with new and returning members. It was a great start to a year filled with leadership, learning, and friendships! 💡👥

IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT...The CMS vs. Jenkins County Middle School football game scheduled for Wednesday, September 25, 2024, has been canceled. The game will be rescheduled at a later date.

Fun with motion! 🎢
Mrs. Hallman's second grade class has been learning about forces and motion in science!! The students were able to plan and create their own marble mazes using paper plates and straws! The students were then able to test their mazes and adjust them as necessary to ensure the marble was able to go through the maze!

🌟 Coffee with the Counselor Recap: Social Media & Mental Health ☕️
During our very first CMS Coffee with the Counselor session, we had an insightful discussion about the impact of social media on the mental health of our middle school students. Topics ranged from the role of artificial intelligence in social platforms to how social media is shaping the way our kids connect with others. We are thankful for our school counselor, Ms. Sabrina Mincey, for taking the time to prepare this session.
🌐 Key Takeaways:
The positive side of social media: staying connected with family and friends, discovering new hobbies, and learning new skills.
A candid roundtable discussion with parents and students sharing personal experiences with social media—both the good and the challenges.
Thank you to all who participated and shared your valuable perspectives! Together, we can continue to support our students' well-being in this digital age. 💬💻 #SocialMedia #MentalHealth #CoffeeWithTheCounselor #CommunityConversation #MiddleSchoolMatters

Art is meant to be shared! This piece, originally hand-drawn by Joselin Baltazar-Venegas, was made into a wall graphic for all students at CHS to enjoy.
For the second year in a row, Baltazar-Venegas placed at the National Beta Club Competition for her artwork. Specifically, this entry claimed third place in the hand-drawn anime category. We look forward to seeing this year's show piece! In the meantime, students, faculty, and guests will admire this fun addition when they walk to art at CHS.
Beautiful work, Joselin!
