The DEN hosted its first FLEXpo! During this event the remaining student entrepreneurs promoted their small businesses by selling their products. Handmade flowers, beautifully arranged live flowers, and delicious baked goods were among the products offered by these up and coming businesses. The FLEX Finale is coming! Members of the CHS Concert Band visited Georgia Southern University today. Students enjoyed lunch on campus and then made their way to the Nessmith-Lane Conference Center where they participated in the LGPE (Large Group Performance Evaluation) Pre-Festival Clinic. The feedback received today will be used to improve the band's performance at the actual event on March 12th at Georgia Southern University. CHS and The DEN are proud of our students and their directors!

Five young ladies will be competing for the title of Miss Claxton Middle School on Saturday, February 24, 2024, at 6:30 pm in the CMS/CHS Cafetorium. Please make plans to come out and support your favorite contestant and see who will wear the crown and represent Claxton Middle School. The CMS baseball team was scheduled to play at home this Thursday, February 22nd. Thursday's game has been canceled and rescheduled as a double-header at the already scheduled game against Portal, in Portal, tomorrow, Wednesday, February 21st.

Two classes in one space, sharing resources and ideas. Last week, Mrs. Francis and Mrs. Smith joined their classes so that students could work on their Hispanic Heritage projects. Mrs. Francis worked one-on-one with students on their writing, and Mrs. Smith provided art supplies and ideas for the required artwork. Students enjoyed each other and made headway on their entries for this assignment. #TheDEN #collaboration

MORE from the CMS Sneaker Ball! Mrs. McDowell had a BLAST with her students!

Last night, CMS hosted its first ever Sneaker Ball. 👟🏀 All students were invited to attend, and everyone had a wonderful time dancing 💃🕺spending time with friends. 😊👭👬 It was so much fun! 🎉👏

Our PreK students wanted to spread some love to the community by making Valentine’s cards to hand out to all four nursing homes in Claxton. Students created the cards and teachers delivered them to the residents. The residents were so appreciative, and they said it made their Valentine’s Day special. 💘 In all, 108 Valentine’s were delivered! #ReadySetGrow #HappyValentine'sDay

Students in Ms. Selph’s geometry class are working on measures of 2D and 3D shapes. They created cross sections by finding dilations of figures using the scale factors provided by the ILC program. These cross sections came together to create pyramids. #PracticalApplicationOfMath
